Concurrent with the first martyrdom anniversary of Iran's anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, Director of the 16th Resistance International Film Festival Mahdi Azimi-Mirabadi said in a note that the efforts for spreading the culture of resistance will be continued.
"Martyr General Qasem Soleimani is a name that not only we in Iran are proud of, but also the Islamic world and all the freedom-seekers people. A man whose blessed life was spent reviving the culture of resistance against the oppressors", he added.
" The Resistance International Film Festival is proud to be the first film and cultural event this year to feature a special section dedicated to Martyr Soleimani. I promise that we will continue to move seriously and deeply at the national, regional, and global levels, and we will keep the flag raised by the great commander in a cultural context," he said.
Azimi-Mirabadi said this international cinematic event was the festival of wonders, adding that he was amazed by the events which happened and their dimensions.
The festival director added that the festival was consisting of eight sections including.
Azimi-Mirabadi added that for instance some 2,900 films were submitted to Basiji Filmmaker section of the festival, underlying that the over 700 works also were sent to the Resistance Prominent Martyr Section which was aimed at commemorating the Martyr Soleimani.
He said that over 10,078 works were submitted to the secretariat of the festival, adding that this number is unprecedented in the history of the festivals which so far have been held in the history of the Islamic Revolution.
The director of the festival underscored that over 4,000 works were submitted to the secretariat of the festival from 135 countries.
