Int'l Resistance FilmFest a Significant Tool Spreading Culture of Sacrifice

Shahin said that the name of the great martyr Qassem Soleimani should not be removed from the memory of generations of people of the resistance, adding that name of late Major General Soleimani should be present in every cinematic event to strengthen the culture of resistance and remind that the blood of our martyrs not be forgotten and we will never remain silent in the face of demanding their rights.

The head of the Syrian Cinema Organization, Murad Shahin, said the International Resistance Film Festival is a significant tool spreading the culture of sacrifice and resistance in the region.
Shahin said some world's politicians are seeking to ruin the culture of resistance with resorting to ghoulish measures, therefore, in an aim to spread this culture at the strategic level, serious work should be done and the International Resistance Film Festival is one of this important tools to spread such culture.
Commenting on the current situation of the Syrian cinema industry, he added: "The Syrian cinema industry, like other parts of our country, is affected by economic pressures. Of course, we always try to deal with these problems in different ways, because the siege and pressure on Syria is not a new phenomenon for us."
Regarding the active participation of the Syrian cinema in the festival, he expressed hope that Syria could participate in such festivals permanently.
He added in this year's edition the "Palms Blood" film directed by Najdah Ismail Anzour representing the Syrian cinema industry.
Pointing to the fact that the "health defenders" is one of the special sections of this festival, he added:" This section has also been cleverly added to this year's edition.
 The Syrian cinematic official reiterated the coronavirus outbreak has caused severe problems for the people all around the world, and we should be grateful to the doctors and nurses who have sacrificed their lives to help protect people.

He pointed out that the initiative to add Sayyid al-Shuhada in the festival is one of the rights and appropriate actions of this artistic event and will increase the credibility and raise the level of this event at the international arenas.
The festival will be held on September 21st to 27th, coinciding with the Sacred Defense Week covering the sections "Defenders of Health" and 21st to 27th November in sections "Main Competition", "Resistance Prominent Martyr - Special Section", "Best Film Competition in Absolute Sense" and" Narrations of Pen - Scriptwriting Competition.
